S63TU · V8
A 4,395 cm³ twin-turbo V8 with the turbochargers between the cylinder banks and Valvetronic. This is the S63B44T0 revision, commonly called S63TU.
Related S63-family V8 in a later M5. This is a family reference, not a photograph verified as the F10 S63TU installation.
The hot-V layout.
The exhaust sides of the cylinder heads face into the V. Two turbochargers sit between the banks, shortening exhaust paths.
S63 revisions matter.
The F10 M5 uses S63B44T0. The photograph is a later F90 engine-family reference; the exploded diagram is from the F10 M5 catalogue.
Intake-valve lift control.
Valvetronic varies intake-valve lift. VANOS separately adjusts camshaft timing.
