The M6 enters the turbo era.
The F13 M6 replaces the previous M6’s V10 with a twin-turbo V8. It keeps the two-door grand-touring idea while changing how the engine delivers its performance.
A powerful two-door grand tourer.
Large tyres and performance hardware affect running costs.
The E63 and F13 M6 generations differ in both cylinder count and induction.
S63 · V8
S63 V8 in an M5. Engine-family reference; individual M5, M6, M8 and X M installations differ.
S63 · Petrol
The F13 M6 replaces the previous generation’s V10 with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. The engine combines direct injection, Valvetronic and turbochargers packaged within the cylinder banks.
Two turbochargers
Two exhaust-driven turbochargers compress the intake air. Charge-air cooling removes heat added during compression.
Rear-wheel drive
A seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission and Active M Differential deliver drive to the rear wheels. Competition Package versions have different power ratings.
