A different kind of M flagship.
The XM combines a V8 with an electric motor in a plug-in hybrid SUV. The selected XM specification stays separate from the higher-output Label version.

XM and XM Label are distinct specifications.
S68 + eDrive · V8 + electric motor
The original XM combines a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor. The displayed 653 PS and 800 Nm are system ratings; the combustion engine alone supplies up to 489 PS and 650 Nm.

S68 + eDrive · Plug-in hybrid
The original XM combines a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor. The displayed 653 PS and 800 Nm are system ratings; the combustion engine alone supplies up to 489 PS and 650 Nm.
Two turbochargers
Two exhaust-driven turbochargers compress the intake air. Charge-air cooling removes heat added during compression.
M xDrive all-wheel drive
The hybrid drive system sends power through M xDrive. Electric assistance and electric-only operation distinguish this model from a conventional V8 SUV.
Understand the system figures
A rechargeable battery powers the motor integrated into the eight-speed transmission. Engine and motor peaks do not simply add together. The Label, 50e and later versions have different powertrain ratings.
