101.7 kWh usable energy
The underfloor lithium-ion battery provides 101.7 kWh of usable energy in the selected specification. Usable capacity describes the driver-accessible operating window and differs from gross capacity.
Understand the peak figures
Peak system torque reaches 1,100 Nm with M Launch Control or M Sport Boost. BMW lists 1,015 Nm in Sport mode without that additional boost. The displayed 485 kW is a peak system rating, rather than a continuous motor rating.
Recover energy while slowing down
During deceleration, the drive motors can act as generators. Power electronics manage energy recovered into the high-voltage battery, while physical brakes provide additional stopping force.
