The V8 M3 adds rear doors.
The E90 M3 puts the S65 V8 into a saloon body. It gives the same engine-era story a more accessible rear seat than the E92 Coupé.
A naturally aspirated V8 with four-door access.
A shared engine does not make saloon and coupé weights identical.
E90 and E92 distinguish the saloon and coupé bodies in this M3 generation.
S65 · V8
S65 V8 reference. The regular 4.0-litre M3 and 4.4-litre GTS are different revisions.
S65 · Petrol
The E90 M3 places the 4.0-litre S65 V8 in a four-door sedan body. Its 420 PS and 400 Nm retain the high-revving character shared with the E92 M3 Coupé.
Naturally aspirated power
Air enters without a turbocharger. Cylinder capacity, valve timing and engine speed shape the engine’s torque delivery.
Rear-wheel drive
The front-mounted V8 drives the rear wheels. A six-speed manual gearbox and optional seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission offered different ways to experience the same M3 engine.
